I Bought a Pair of Merrell Hiking Boots & They're the Best Boots I've Ever Owned
After months of research and contemplating whether or not I actually needed another pair of shoes, I finally caved and bought myself these Merrell hiking boots before my trip to Colorado—and I have no regrets.
Here's Why I Love My Merrell Thermo Chill Hiking Boots
I'll be the first to admit that I'm quite the shoe fanatic, but I usually do my research to avoid impulse buys. I had been looking into getting a good pair of boots for awhile, but as my trip to Colorado snuck up on me I realized all I had packed were my sneakers. I knew they weren't going to cut it when it came to climbing a mountain, so I went to the nearest sporting goods store to see if they had an affordable pair of hiking boots (from my research I discovered they can cost up to $500). I walked in and my eyes were immediately drawn to the display of women's boots that looked durable and surprisingly stylish. The Merrell Thermo Chill boots have a monochromatic color scheme that matches almost any outfit and cost $110—way less than the $500 I had read about. They were the first and last pair I tried on before heading to the checkout counter.
These lightweight boots have M-Select GRIP technology that ensures slip-resistant stability whether you're on wet or dry land and are insulated with M-Select WARM, making them great snow boots, too. I wore them the next day on our hike up the mountains, and to be honest I was nervous I was going to end up with a ton of blisters. After wearing them for over 12 hours straight, I took them off and my feet felt amazing, were blister-free, and didn't smell thanks to the M-Select FRESH antimicrobial agents in each shoe. The waterproof PU-coated leather allowed me to tromp through small creeks without hesitation, and their bellows tongues kept out dirt, rocks, and leaves. Temperatures dropped below freezing that night, and even with my Eddie Bauer parka, my feet were the warmest part of my body. I am now recommending these boots to everyone I know whether they enjoy the outdoors as much as I do, or just need a reliable pair of snow boots for winter.
