World’s Most Beautiful Woman
Paltrow is crowned the “World’s Most Beautiful Woman” by People, appearing on the April cover.

The daughter of Tony Award-winning actress Blythe Danner and television producer Bruce Paltrow, Gwyneth Paltrow has Hollywood superstardom in her genes. When she was 18, she appeared alongside her famous mom in a stage play and impressed her parents so much, they encouraged her to abandon college and follow her passion for acting. And good thing Gwyneth did; since that fateful day in 1991, several high-profile roles followed, including Shout with John Travolta, Steven Spielberg’s Hook, Se7en alongside Brad Pitt, and 1996’s Emma, a meaty project that finally established her as a serious actress in showbiz.

By 1996, Paltrow’s career was on fire. People named her one of the “Hottest 30 Stars Under 30” and one of the “25 Most Intriguing.” Next, she took home the Oscar for Best Actress for her performance as Lady Viola in the 1998 film, Shakespeare in Love. Overflowing with talent, charisma, and on-screen charm, it’s no surprise the big projects have kept coming throughout her career thus far, including The Talented Mr. Ripley, The Royal Tenenbaums, Shallow Hal, View from the Top, Proof, Iron Man 1, 2, and 3, Country Strong, The Avengers, and Thanks for Sharing, to name a few.

With a magnitude of magazine covers under her belt, an endorsement with fashion brand Coach, launch of her luxury lifestyle website Goop.com, and release of two cookbooks, Paltrow is one of the most buzzed about celebs in Hollywood. Known to follow a super strict macrobiotic diet, the mommy-of-two (with husband Chris Martin of Coldplay) sticks to raw foods and avoids caffeine, sugar, and alcohol. Crediting her trim and toned figure to fitness guru Tracy Anderson, the A-lister is such a fan, they’ve become business partners. Together, the dynamic duo have produced four exercise DVDs. “I do 45 minutes of cardio five days a week, because I like to eat. I also try for 45 minutes of muscular structure work, which is toning, realigning and lengthening. If I'm prepping for something or I've been eating a lot of pie, I do two hours a day, six days a week for two weeks,” she says of her exercise regime. Kristen Aldridge
