The "Dancing with the Stars" pro is among a slew of celebrity moms who are trying to normalize post-baby bodies.

Peta Murgatroyd and her fiancé, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, just welcomed their first baby into the world eight days ago. While the Dancing With the Stars pro is just over a week postpartum, she is already embracing the changes her body has gone through, urging other women to do the same.

In a candid post on Thursday, she explains how her body didn't "shrink right back" to where it was before she got pregnant and how that's totally normal.

"Real life: I took this photo eight days post birth," she wrote. "I left the hospital looking five months pregnant. Many people think a woman should shrink right back to her pre-birth weight immediately. That is just not the truth for most."

"The female body is incredible and resilient, but healing and strengthening take time," she continued. "Now it's time for patience and hard work. Lots of love to all the new mamas out there on the journey."

Murgatroyd's sentiments have been mirrored by several other celebrity moms like Chrissy Teigen, Olivia Wilde, and Kristen Bell, who have all tried to take the pressure off of having the perfect post-baby body. It's important to keep in mind that your body after pregnancy is not something to be ashamed of, but rather something to celebrate. Your body has literally created another human-so you may as well give yourself some credit for it.
