Shannen Doherty's New Photo Shows Us What Chemo Really Looks Like
The inspirational star has touched our hearts once again.
Ever since she revealed her breast cancer diagnosis in 2015, Shannen Doherty has been refreshingly honest about the realities of living with cancer.
It all started with a powerful series of Instagram posts that showed her shaved head after chemo. Later, she shared an emotional tribute to her husband, stating that he was her "rock" during this tough time.
Most times, the 45-year-old actress offers people fighting cancer a glimmer of hope. Recently, she shared a video of her dancing even though she didn't feel like getting out of bed that day. Another time, she made a red-carpet appearance to raise cancer awareness.
Other times she can be honest about the dark side of chemotherapy and cancer treatment.
"Sometimes it just feels like you aren't going to make it. That passes," she captions the photo. "Sometimes the next day or 2 days later or 6 but it passes and movement is possible. Hope is possible. Possibility is possible. To my cancer family and everyone suffering.... stay courageous. Stay strong. Stay positive."
More recently the actress opened up again, telling her fans about the latest step in her breast cancer treatment.
"First day of radiation treatment," she wrote in the caption of a photo on Instagram Monday. "I look like I'm about to make a run for it which is accurate. Radiation is frightening to me. Something about not being able to see the laser, see the treatment and having this machine moving around you just scares me."
Despite her fear and anxiety, Doherty is sure that she will learn to adjust. "I'm sure I'll get used to it, but right now....I hate it," she wrote.
Whether you're fighting a terminal illness, or battling through life's many obstacles, there's no doubt - Doherty's words are powerful. Thanks for always being such an inspiration Shannen Doherty. Never change.
