The star honors veterans and raises PTSD awareness. He shows us his muscles, too.

Chris Evans is joining in on the viral 22 Push-Up Challenge right on the heels of Anna Faris and Chris Pratt's team attempt earlier this week, and his workout buddy's reaction is making a great thing even better for all of us watching at home.

On Monday, the Captain America: Civil War star took to Twitter after being challenged by John Krasinski to take part in the social media campaign created by #22Kill, a nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness for mental health issues suffered by American soldiers. The 22 Push-Up Challenge encourages followers to commit to doing 22 push-ups for 22 days in honor of the 22 military veterans who commit suicide every day.

Evans starts his own video by thanking "all the men and women serving this country" and goes on to admit that he wasn't aware that veteran suicides happened at such a high rate. "That's why these kinds of challenges are good... it certainly raises an awareness and shines a light on issues that need to be addressed," he says, which is exactly what creators 22Kill are hoping for.

Remember the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge? Originally branded "slacktivism" by its naysayers, The New Yorker recently reported that the 2014 Internet sensation was more than just a slew of videos in your newsfeed––it actually resulted in impressive results for research and awareness. Similarly, 22Kill's fitness-inspired social media crusade is shining a light on the reality of mental health struggles that many veterans face.

So as if we could have loved our favorite superhero any more than we already did, he pledged his support and got down on his yoga mat to workout for a cause. But before he could even complete his first push up, the most adorable (and unhelpful) workout buddy joins the frame. His dog, Dodger licks and nudges his owner throughout the video––all the while bobbing up and down flawlessly, regardless of the interruption. Dodger was probably just attempting to show his support. We would do the same.

Despite the innocent disturbance, Evans manages to complete the challenge without even breaking a sweat, and goes on to nominate his Avengers co-stars Anthony Mackie and Jeremy Renner.
