This woman is seriously our hero.
Election Day is upon us! If you don't live in a state with early voting, this means today is the day to cast your ballot for president. It can be a hassle at times, but it's so important. If Colorado resident Sosha Adelstein can vote while in labor, you have no excuse.
Adelstein, who lives in Boulder, was due November 8 but went into labor November 4. Luckily, she and her husband, Max Brandel, were able to turn their ballots in early to the Boulder County Clerk and Recorder's Office before going to the hospital, where Adelstein gave birth to a healthy baby girl. They were even able to take a photo at the "selfie station" that was set up at the office. (Election officials told the Daily Camera that they thought Adelstein's eyes were closed in the photo due to the pain of being in labor.)
Boulder County spokeswoman Mircalla Wozniak confirmed to the Daily Camera that Adelstein and Brandel voted early and said the election judge could tell Adelstein was in labor.
"We always encourage voting by any means and certainly encourage your ballot in as soon as possible," she said. "This is a great reason to vote early if you are in labor."
Brandel says that he and Adelstein both voted for Hillary Clinton. "It's really important for us to bring our girl into a world we are proud of," he told the Daily Camera. "We hope people realize the risks inherent in this election and get out and vote."
