The #1 Thing You Should Keep In Mind Before You Set Weight-Loss Goals
"If you're intending on changing your body to ultimately be happy with what you see, you will never be happy."
The new year often comes a fresh set of resolutions: working out more, eating better, losing weight. (P.S. We have the ultimate 40-day plan to crush ANY goal.) But no matter how much weight you want to lose or muscle you want to gain, it's still important to treat your body with respect and love.
Blogger Riley Hempson has been transforming her life through fitness over the past two years. She's lost 55 pounds in the process, but that's just a small part of the picture. Reflecting on her own goals this past year, she wrote: "What started as a mission to lose a heap of weight, turned into a journey of health, love, and happiness."
Riley realized that the transformation she really needed was on the inside. "If you're intending on changing your body to ultimately be happy with what you see, you will never be happy," she continued. "LOVE yourself enough to treat your body and mind with the nutrition it needs. Fuel your journey with love, not hate. Everything else will fall perfectly into place."
She ended her post reminding everyone that we're so much more than our bodies. "You're more than your health," she said. "You are the way you treat others, you are the way you smile, the way you make others smile, the way you cry, the way you laugh and the way you get down and dirty on the D floor. You are SO MANY THINGS, remember that."
