Whenever things get slow at the board shop where I work, I used to sit and read. But in my quest to be more active, I've started using that downtime to squeeze in some exercise. We have a bench that I can lay on to do crunches, planks, and push-ups, a skateboard that's heavy enough to use as a weight for upper arm moves, and a step that I like to pretend is a step-up bench. Or if I don't feel like doing any of those things, I make sure to walk around, refolding clothes, switching what the mannequins are wearing, and cleaning up. I had no idea how much of a life change that this process would be until I start to look back at the way I used to be and how I am now. Wow!
