While I probably won’t be getting my own show on the Food Network any time soon, I do enjoy puttering around in the kitchen. Having a mini repertoire of healthy dishes that I can cook helps me stick to my diet without getting bored. As I’ve played around with different ingredients, three have stood out as miracle workers:
* Fat-free or low-fat sour cream I can blend it with mustard and chopped-up celery to make lower-calorie deviled eggs or sprinkle some curry powder, salt, and pepper in it and use it as a marinade for chicken.
* Orange juice A splash adds a really nice tang to tea or plain yogurt with fewer calories than honey or sugar.
* Canned Chipotle peppers Chopped up, they add a huge amount of flavor to salad dressings or soups.
